Introduction of the challenge! What are we talking about? Asthma is a breathing disorder that has been identified many centuries ago. Its not new, but weirdly enough, we cannot seem to cure this disease. Today, the international health organization finds there are over 240 million people in the world that suffer from this disorder. And the situation is radically worsening: The population suffering from asthma has gone up 40% in 20 years (in France, the asthmatic population has DOUBLED In 10 years). Why do I point out these figures? Because no one has found the cure to HEAL asthma. The only way we treat asthma today, is by covering up the symptoms. And clearly that doesn’t seem to be working very well. In 2005, there are more than 350 000 people who died from asthma crisis. This number is going up, and not down, while medicine is making humongous progress in so many sectors. There’s something that doesn’t seem right. My personnel experience had got me worried too: in the past 3 years, I have seen 2 pneumologues that have provided me with very heavy bronchodilators and steroid treatments, and my asthma has not been better, but on the contrary, my crisis have intensified and become much more regular. I have a severe case of asthma: the type where you walk up the stairs and have a crisis, the type that wakes you up at night, the type that pops up after a diner or when I laugh too hard. I never go running without my inhaler, never go to a party without taking medicine. Today I feel I’ve been taking this the wrong way: I have taken treatments that have distracted me from listening to my body: when you take a pill or an puff of your inhaler, the instant soothing prevents you from really questioning « why do I have this? What makes it worse? What makes it better? » - so now I am going to take time to listen to my body, observe my breathing, dig into the causes. Stay tuned to follow the experiment and progress. #asthma #asthme #breathingdisorders #breathe #lungs #breathing #ventoline #bronchodilator #respiratorytherapistinthemaking #respiratory #respiration #respiratorytherapy #respiratoryphysiology #respiratorypractitioner #respiratorysupport #respiro #respiration

New year = new challenge!!! Mission « freedom from asthma » j+12 ! I have been trying aaaalll sorts of healing methods, all as natural as possible, to cure my asthma. If you are interested or if you think this can help someone: find all the info at @whole_new_breath 💪 I’ve decided that I would handle my healing myself, as a priority: I’ve had asthma all my life and it’s seriously getting worse, even though I’m seeing more doctors and taking on more serious chemical treatments! listening to your own body is the first step and best step to recovery. #asthma #healingasthma #asthme #breathingdisorder #respiratorytherapist #respiratorytherapistinthemaking #respiration #respire #respiratorycare

Hypopressives-Low Pressure Fitness during PREGNANCY?
Oh! Yah!! Of course you can !! ( WITHOUT APNEAS ! )
Let us not forget this technique is a FULL BODY APPROACH to core HEALTH

Pregnant women more than ever, need to be able to rely on their internal support system throughout pregnancy.
The images here, demonstrate the
SYNERGY required as these moms to be, allow their CORE SYSTEM to work as a UNIT.
The automatic core activation required by the internal support belt/TRANSVERSE ABDOMINALS , MULTIIFIDUS while the POSTURAL cues are maintained, works in tandem with the PELVIC FLOOR.
A modified BREATHING pattern is designed specifically for the pregnant women’s Hypopressive training. Unlike the automatic vacuum effect felt on the PF in the traditional program, we cue within the same breathing cadence the addition of a voluntary PF contraction where the apnea would be.
SOOOOOO IF you are pregnant you don’t have to stop or wait to get started on your Hypopressives training you’ll just need to modify it!
After the baby is born and when ready you simply add the apnea / vacuum breath and VOILA!!!!
