🌟 attitude of gratitude 🌟
Lately I have been practicing a lot of gratitude.. and not just the “yeah yeah I’m grateful I’m alive” or “I could have it so much worse” kind of gratitude .. but a real conscientious effort to reflect on all the things, no matter how big or small, in each day that I’m grateful for.. ♥️
If you’re anything like me, then obsessing over negatives, driving yourself crazy with the “coulda, shoulda, woulda” is like an addiction 🥀
Could I have done that better, why did I say that, things should have worked out differently.. literally thinking about things I said and did years ago and replaying each moment painfully on repeat 🍁
But eventually I got so exhausted from being trapped in my own mind that I had to actually FORCE myself to create new ways of thinking 🌈
It’s not an easy or straightforward thing to do, more like a salsa dance where you have a few days good days and then a few days are bad 💃🏽 the trick is not to give up during those bad days! Keep going!! But ultimately, I’m learning to create a habit out of being grateful.. grateful that my local café makes a great coffee every morning ☕️ grateful that my friend bought me happy yellow flowers for my birthday 🌼 grateful that pink wrapping paper with unicorns on it exists 🦄 grateful that I spend most of my working day with colleagues who make me laugh 😝 grateful that I have work trips planned ✈️ and that my best friend @harrietelizabeth12 arrives tonight 😍
Each day can be a battle, and some days will be just that .. a battle with your mind or the situation you’re in, but if you create a habit and attitude of gratitude.. you will see just how much there is to smile about ❤️ ps looking out over New York from the top of the Rock definitely got some gratitude!
